While I was in California in February I visited the HQ of Mission Aviation Fellowship. There in the lobby of the building was a display with the remains of the plane Nate Saint & Jim Elliott flew into the Auca village where they became martyrs for the gospel. When I was younger I had read "Through Gates of Spleador" Elizabeth Elliott's story of her husbands martyrdom and eventually how she went to the same village and evangelized the tribe. I was struck by the price that was paid and how much love must have been in Jim & Nate's hearts to do this and pay the ultimate price for the gospel. Oh, that we would be "living martyrs" counting all as loss for the sake of Christ!
